  7. She Brings The Rain (from Bottom-Ein Grosser Graublauer Vogel) (4:04)

A transitional record, and a good place to start for the uninitiated.

Not only does this album have a sampling of the two best known Can vocalists (Malcom Mooney sings on "Soul Desert" and "She Brings The Rain," Damo Suzuki sings on the rest) it contains what could be considered Can's best known track, "Mother Sky."  "Mother Sky" has been covered by Th' Faith Healers, Loop, and others, and along with "Yoo Doo Right" is considered to be definitive of the band's sound.

The material is strong and (relatively) poppy: the fact that such a coherent piece could be made of assorted tracks, recorded at different times, even with different vocalists, gives credence to Can's reputation as being about the situation as well as the music.  They followed an idea, and changing vocalists, motivations, and even goals couldn't sidetrack them.
