A good recovery from the slump that produced "Out Of Reach." The overall sound recalls the smooth psychedelic excursions of the band we all know and love, and (if one is in the mood for some quickie revisionism,) can be considered a logical continuation from the precedent of "Saw Delight."
Holger Czukay rejoined as well, although he didn't technically play on the record. Irmin Schmidt: "On 'A Spectacle,' Holger helped us a lot and his editing was really part of the composing. At this moment, Holger was a member of Can again."
This album also contains the bizarre "Can Can." Yes, it's THAT "Can Can." A cute in joke for fans, but a strangely silly digression from the rest of the record.
